Dodge Magnum Scores Highest with Millennials on Used Car Market

Could it be that children who spend their formative years in people movers are naturally attracted to versatile big vehicles? Or are Millennial car buyers (those ages 18-34) just more practical with an eye for value?

Either way, younger used-car buyers are drawn to the powerful look of the Dodge Magnum wagon, elegant utility of the Chrysler Pacifica and the brawny versatility of the Dodge Durango, according to an Edmunds.comanalysis of Polk sales data for the first half of this year.

The Dodge Magnum was the top choice of younger used-car buyers between January and June -- 27.6% of Millennials chose the wagon that is still a popular choice among fans of FCA US' LX-series of vehicles. The Magnum was produced for the 2005-2008 model years, in rear-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. To really haul your gear there was the SRT-8 version with a 425-hp HEMI V-8.

Tucked in right behind the Magnum in popularity with Millennial used-car buyers is the Chrysler Pacifica -- selected by 27.3% of buyers in the first half of this year. The Pacifica, built for the 2004-2008 model years, was among the first vehicles to combine a roomy and versatile interior with an aerodynamic, stylish exterior. The V-6-powered Pacifica was available in front-drive and all-wheel-drive versions. Also making the top 10 among Millennial used-car buyers is the Dodge Durango SUV, chosen by 24.8%. The Durango's versatility, towing capabilities and comfortable ride catch buyers' attention.
