Service description:Provides individuals and families with a warm, safe place to sleep and emergency food in response to a DTE Energy service interruption that is not due to an unpaid utility bill. Eligible households will receive emergency shelter up to 72 hours, access to a crisis counselor, emergency food, energy conservation and budgeting education and transportation assistance. Center offers 7 units, with 10 beds available to accomodate individuals and families.
Eligibility:City of Detroit residents experiencing an interruption in DTE Energy gas or electric service disruption that is due to circumstances other than the household's failure to pay for electric services. If a landlord is the utility customer and does not pay for services which results in disruption of services to tenants, the affected tenants are considered eligible.
